The owner & founder, Claudio F. Kellenberger, got infected with the ‘travel virus’ as a teenager growing up in rural Switzerland. Over the past 40 years he has travelled to over 60 countries across the globe and developed a great passion for everything related to travelling and tourism; for which he has dedicated his whole professional life working in the tourism and hospitality sector.
He started as a counter clerk selling holiday packages to direct clients. He then joined a major tour operator in Switzerland and started contracting hotels in exotic destinations and producing travel brochures. His professional path took him later to Brazil, Vietnam, Myanmar and Thailand where he took over several management positions. He was then ready to start up his own business.
His friends and acquaintances were key to him when he started Maori Trails. Â
